Unique Asymmetrical Beam

Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas have unique beam shape. The beam cross-section in bore sight is elliptical: it is wide in azimuth and narrow in elevation plane. This beam shape provides wide coverage pattern with increased antenna gain. The beam shape reminds one of a standard automotive fog light.

Virtually No Side Lobes

Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas have naturally depressed side lobes: they focus substantial part of the energy into single main beam. The side lobes are either absent or attenuated to the point they are not "visible" for WISP radios. Elimination of side lobe radiation enables excellent noise immunity of Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas and unlocks for the new levels in network scalability.

 

Unique Coverage Pattern

Mainstream patch array sector antennas have radiation pattern extremely wide in azimuth and extremely narrow in elevation plane. Increased gain is often attractive for WISPs, but such an extreme beam pattern provides multiple disadvantages in most of the deployments. Increased gain in a very wide beam opens for collecting a lot more noise. Coverage pattern brings also challenging. If an AP is deployed on an elevated tower, customers too close to the tower suffer from low AP signal level. Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas provide best of both: valuable extra degrees in elevation beam width are shrinking the null zone while preserving increased gain for long range performance.

TwistPort™ Connector

Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas feature feature our industry-changing TwistPort™ connector, a proprietary quick-locking waveguide port. TwistPort™ is virtually lossless: with radios built according to our Reference design, there are no coaxial RF connectors or RF cables that cause signal loss. TwistPort™ Adaptors (TPA) allow to connect third party radios. Connecting TwistPort™ is brilliantly simple - “twist and lock” - all done with one hand!

The New 6 GHz Wideband Asymmetrical Horn Antennas are designed like no other antenna product. We use marine grade sheet metal aluminum for antenna construction. Sheet metal is precision cut to shape and formed using combination of high precision stamping and high precision welding in highly innovative proprietary manufacturing process never used before in antenna industry. Antennas are powder coated for increased environmental resistance, unobtrusive appearance when deployed on buildings and for esthetics.

Compact & Lightweight

Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas are very compact and incredibly lightweight. The weight of antenna has been reduced almost 50% when compared to Asymmetrical Horn TP Antennas with similar beam width.

The compact size saves tower rental fees, and makes it possible to install Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas in places where regular sectors would not be allowed due to their shape and size. Selection of beam angles combined with a compact built allows for a wide range of deployment scenarios, covering high distance sectors as well as MicroPoPs.

Built To Last

6GHz Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas are built to endure in the harshest environment. We considered customer feedback and designed the 6 GHz wideband Horn antennas using high corrosion resistant materials. To ensure superb durability in outdoor deployments even in the harshest environments we use marine grade aluminum sheets as the base material instead of cast aluminum. Along the aluminum sheets we use extruded aluminum, corrosion resistant zinc alloy, and high quality ABS plastic. All materials guarantee superb environmental resistance of 6 GHz Asymmetrical Horn antennas.

We pioneered the use of stainless steel hardware in WISP industry and this product line is no exception. Stainless steel hardware has black surface coating to prevent galling. 

 

Mounting Bracket

Asymmetrical Horn WB Antennas feature an innovative mounting system that has been proven in the field for many years. The mount is separated from the antenna, making the installation and adjustment quick and easy.

Step 1: Bracket Installation

First install the bracket on the pole. The pole bracket is reversible: it can be mounted on the left or the right side of the antenna.

Step 2: Antenna Adjustment

Simply slide the antenna in the bracket and adjust the elevation and the azimuth. Tighten the screws to finish the installation. Only one tool is needed for the entire installation.
